Plenary Indulgence

In the Archdiocese of Malta, the faithful—described by Pope Francis as ‘pilgrims of hope’—may obtain the Jubilee Indulgence by devoutly visiting the following consecrated churches:

Pilgrims visiting these sacred places are encouraged to participate in Eucharistic Adoration, recite the Our Father, the Profession of Faith, and Marian invocations such as the Salve Regina. Within the same week of their visit, they partake in the sacraments of reconciliation and holy communion, thereby freeing themselves from all temporal punishment for their sins.

or individuals unable to partake in solemn celebrations, pilgrimages or devotional visits due to serious reasons—such as cloistered religious, the elderly, the sick or prisoners—the Jubilee Indulgence remains accessible. This ay be obtained by spiritually uniting with the Pope’s or the diocesan Bishop’s liturgical celebrations broadcast through media, reciting the Our Father, the Creed, and the Salve Regina, offering their sufferings as a heartfelt sacrifice to God.
