The opening celebration of the Jubilee starts at 5pm with a moment of prayer by the Archbishop of Malta in the Grotto of Saint Paul. The congregation will be able to follow a direct connection from the naves and the square of the Collegiate Basilica of San Paul, Victoria. Afterwards, the Archbishop joins the gathered community and at the beginning of the liturgical rite, the Gospel is read. From this moment, the invitation to the pilgrimage is accepted. This pilgrimage starts from the same Parish Church of Victoria in a processional walk to the Metropolitan Cathedral of San Paul, Mdina. This pilgrimage will be accompanied by families, married couples, brides and grooms. These pilgrims, among the entire congregation, are at the center of the jubilee celebration of December 29, on the day of remembrance of the Holy Family.

The liturgical rite continues in the Mdina Cathedral, where, among others, the crucifix is ​​presented, symbolic of the virtue of hope. The last prayer will be the mass prayer, which will be celebrated at 6pm.
